We open Machik Weekend in the inspiring halls of the Minneapolis Institute of Art (Mia) Mia provides the perfect backdrop for the gathering of creativity and civic spirit. With a collection of over 90,000 works of art from six continents, spanning 5,000 years of human history, Mia embodies the enduring power of art to connect people and shape our world.
We recommend coming early to the exhibits, including the Tibetan shrine room. The evening will flow from a cultural performance to a discussion on denisovans to a film screening. We will close the night with music to bring everyone together in celebration. Parking at Mia |

All of Saturday's events take place at the Coffman Theater at Coffman Memorial Union of University of Minnesota — a vibrant campus hub.
The Machik Forum will feature Machik POV (Point of View) speakers, roundtables, small group discussions, and creative workshops. Together, we will explore intergenerational healing, Tibetan arts and culture, and new perspectives on civic engagement, education innovation, and more. In the evening, Machik Spirit Night will showcase the creativity and determination of Tibetan artists, across generations. The program will include music, poetry, and Gorshay (circle) dance — spanning traditional expressions and contemporary innovation. |

On Sunday, we will gather at the Health Sciences Education Building 3-110 at the University of Minnesota for the Conversation Commons. The morning includes a light brunch (provided by community members), reflections on the weekend and discussions on future directions, including for the 20th Machik Weekend in 2026, to close the weekend together.
